ABOUT ME

Dune Bianche was born between 2019 and 2020 in Basilicata, my homeland.I’m an oenologist and I studied and worked in Tuscany, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

After some years I decided to abandon the world of conventional wine with the aim of producing artisanal wines free to tell stories and territories.

My work is divided between Basilicata and Umbria, the region where I live and vinify all the grapes. The Umbrian wines, made with my friend and right-hand man Marisa Mastrosimone, are released under the name “Due Dune”.

My journey into the world of wine began early, both for study reasons and above all for a family tradition that allowed me to experience the agricultural world from an early age.

The technical training allowed me to understand the correct path to take, moving away from a world in which I didn't feel truly free. For this reason, in 2019 I definitively abandon the world of conventional wine.

I went back to Basilicata and started to make natural wine. My town is surrounded by the valley of the gullies, those white dunes from which I took inspiration to give the name to my company.

In this land where wine has always been made but where natural wine has never crossed the threshold of the small cellars or farmers' "caves", I try to go against industrial wine that has affected craftsmanship and biodiversity.

With my project I try in some way to give value to the territory and to native varieties which have been mistakenly abandoned.

In my wines, around 3000 bottles, I want to combine tradition, technique and life experiences.

I strongly believe in macerations and in the use of exhausted wood barrels of various sizes and types. Spontaneous fermentations are carried out in the cellar without filtration, clarification and without the addition of chemical adjuvants. In the vineyards, fertilized with manure, only copper, sulfur and zeolite are used, the minimum possible considering the climate and the amount of rainfall during the year.
